Vishwas Rao Patil was the CEO of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) from 2016 until his retirement in 2018. Originally in the state govt cadres, he was promoted to IAS rank in 1994. [1]

Patil also directed the 2013 Hindi film Rajjo, starring Kangana Ranaut as a courtesan, and whose plot is about the redevelopment of Mumbai's red light district, Kamathipura. The film was a commercial flop. [2]
