Vishwas Patil

Vishwas Patil was the CEO of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) from 2016 until his retirement in 2017. Originally in the state govt cadres, he was promoted to IAS rank in 1994. [1]

Minister of state for housing Ravindra Waikar on Tuesday announced a probe by the criminal investigation department (CID) into the alleged irregularities by former Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) chief and IAS officer Vishwas Patil. The officer is facing charges of having cleared files by flouting rules while heading the SRA in a few days before he retired on June 30 last year and 33 of the files have been found to have serious irregularities. Patil also directed the 2013 Hindi film Rajjo, starring Kangana Ranaut as a courtesan, and whose plot is about the redevelopment of Mumbai's red light district, Kamathipura. The film was a commercial flop. [3]
