You can use all options that you would for an Image -- for example: thumb, right/left, caption, border, link, etc. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Images for details on options.
- Example: Preview page 2, width 240px, links to file description page:
For PDF file: 1910 Financial Chapter in the History of Bombay.pdf
Syntax: [[File:1910 Financial Chapter in the History of Bombay.pdf|page=2|240px]]
- Example: Preview page 2, width 360px, links directly to PDFs page 2:
Get the direct link to file by clicking on the preview in file description page and then copy url.

- Text-Link to file:
- Use "Media" for a text-link to the actual file. The link will not take you to the file description page, but instead will deliver the file itself.
