Phoenix Mill

Started in the year 1889, was earlier called Britannia Mills and in the year 1905 was reconstructed as Phoenix Mills. The initial directors of the Mill were Sasoonn David, Jamsetjee Wadia, Jamseetjee Jeejeebhoy and F E Dinshaw. The Mill was electrically driven by power from Tata Hydro Electric Supply. It had spindles 52,000 and 700 looms and around 2400 workers were employed.
