Azad Maidan

Azad Maidan was witness to a huge satyagraha during the Flag Satyagraha in 1930, when hoisting of the tricolor was banned. Avantikabai Gokhale was one such leader who disobeyed the order and unfurled the tricolor amidst a lathi charge.
