Society of Indian Record Collectors was formed in May 1990 with the aim of bringing together persons and institutions interested in the preservation, promotion and research in all aspects of Indian musical culture. It brings out a journal The Record News since then. It started as a result of occasional meetings of the record collectors and music lovers who over period of time organised them selves into a group.
