Hind Mazdoor Panchayat

Hind Mazdoor Panchayat was the trade union wing of the Socialist Party and formed in the year 1962 and initially George Fernandes was its General Secretary. From the very beginning it concentrated on the non-industrial labour force as its members and included municipal employees, bus drivers, conductors, hotel employees and unions of taxi drivers, tailors and hawkers.
