Originally from Sindh, settled in Bombay after the partition and was Member and then the Deputy Chairperson of the Bombay Legislative Council. She played a key role in the post-partition settling of migrated Sindhis and established the Navjivan Co-op Housing Society at Mahim, Chembur, Matunga and Lamington Road during the decade of 50s.
