There were around 22 hills in Bombay. Names of few are: Malabar, Nowroji, Cumbala, Antop, Sewri, Gilbert, Worli, Pali, Mazgaon(part of it was pulled down for Mody Bay reclamation), Ghodapdeo(demolished by BPT for Sewri reclamation) Sion, Mahakali, Golanji, Salamati, Pulshachi, Trombay, Ghatkopar, Powai Hill. Since about 1700, these hills have been eroded continuously by quarrying, reclamation needs, and construction activity.
