Purchased by Vallabhbhai Thakkar in the year 1993 from the family of Mehta's and on 17th April, 1997 he was shot dead within his car. The Mill was closed in the year 1989 and there were 1100 employees at that time and was under the BIFR.
Hussain Zaidi's in his book Byculla to Bangkok writes that Arun Gawli invested Rs 30 lakh in the mill.
