Studied Fine Arts at JJ School of Arts and was a socialist activist and involved with activities of Rashtriya Sewa Dal and one of the founding members of PUCL. During Vinobha Bhawe's bhoodan movement, painted its posters. Along with Mirinal Gore was part of the rolling-pin demonstrations against inflation.
