Areas that stretch from Byculla and Chinchpokli in the south, through Parel-Lalbaug, Mahalakshmi, Saat Rasta and Elphinstone Road, to the edges of Dadar and Worli in the north are referred to as Girangaon, the 'village of Mills'.
